The Challenge
The client sought to expand organ donation and transplantation capabilities in Ghana but understood that organ transplant was a taboo project in Ghana and needed stakeholder engagement and buy-in. The project also aimed to identify funding programs, establish contact networks, and provide technical cooperation and know-how transfer.
The Approach
Our team identified potential funding programs, conducted an economic study of organ transplantation in Ghana, and mapped key players in the field. We coordinated with teaching hospitals and the Ghana Health Service to introduce the project and establish collaborations for training and capacity building.
Outcome
The project laid the groundwork for enhanced organ donation and transplantation services in Ghana. Key collaborations were established with teaching hospitals and medical associations, and potential funding opportunities were identified to support the initiative’s long-term sustainability.
